We need to stop having this dichotomy between sort of digital and non-digital stuff. the learning that happens is actually happening across – like in digital media and outside of digital media. Learning is not specific to an artefact. (…)

So one way for teachers to think about maybe bringing digital media into the classroom is to not think that the game itself has to be the holder of all content. (…) But rather that this game or this online experience or that book is one part of the larger curriculum experience that they are designing.

BuddyPress wird zur Lernplattform

Seit mehreren Wochen konnte man gespannt die Entstehung eines vielversprechenden Projekts im Blog von Stas Sușcov verfolgen. Unter dem Namen “CourseWare” hat er ein PlugIn für die auch von mir im letzten Schuljahr sehr zufriedenstellend eingesetzten Blog- und Community-Plattform BuddyPress (hier und hier) entwickelt, welches das System um ein Lernmanagement- und Kursverwaltungsmodell erweitert.

Gestern hat er die allererste Beta-Version zum Download online gestellt. Ich habe das PlugIn direkt installiert und in meiner Umgebung angesehen. Es macht einen guten Eindruck. So gut, dass ich in den nächsten Wochen vor habe, das Ganze ins Deutsche zu übersetzen, um es bald auch in meinen Klassen einsetzen zu können.
